YOUth&I Issue 1 (2019)

YOUth&I is an anthology of creative works by young intersex people from Canberra, from Australia, and around the world. Intersex voices are so rarely heard – content that’s out there about intersex is often highly medicalised or focused on the need for advocacy or support (so necessary and important) but intersex people are also creative and bold – YOUth&I provides a platform to showcase that! This anthology contains poems, short essays, photos, drawings and other artworks. These personal contributions reflect on different intersex experiences, hopes for the future, and strength found in community. This publication is the first of its kind in Australia and is supported by the ACT Capital of Equality grants program.
